This weekend we played a wedding at the Coniston Hotel near Skipton for the fabulous Judith and Steve. Our bride and Groom were fab people and Steve got the evening rolling with a little set of his own!
Judith and Steve had ‘always’ by Bon Jovi as their first dance and what a good night we had!
A couple of special requests made their way in there and we finished the night off with a great sing along with all the guests.
Special thanks to resident DJ Mitch who is a lovely chap (and also has a great name )
Last weekend we played a rustic themed tipi wedding in the grounds of Giggleswick school for the lovely Cat and Dave. Tipi weddings always have a great laid back feel and this was no exception. From the moment we arrived everyone we met was smiling and having a great time so we knew we were in for a good one!
As soon as we kicked off, everyone jumped on the dance floor and there they stayed for the rest of the night. Our photo pod was a big success and got plenty of usage during the evening
There was an interesting end to the night but we managed to finish the last song before wrapping up after a raucous evening. After some good chats with family and friends the bride and Groom headed off and we enjoyed the last part of the night.
So thanks again Cat and Dave for having us along for the ride. It was super fun and we wish you all the best for the future!
Last weekend we played at an amazing wedding at a venue we have never been to before (it doesn’t happen often!) which was the Wylam brewery in Newcastle. It’s an actual working brewery and the smells as you walk in are just divine James and Alice were the perfect hosts and we really enjoyed playing at your special day!
The couple had Eric Clapton, wonderful tonight for their first dance which was a great choice.
We wish you both all the best in the future and thanks again for having us!
Christmas was fast approaching and one of our last weddings of 2018 was for the lovely Lucie and Scott at Middleton Lodge near Richmond in North Yorkshire. We started the day with an acoustic set in the afternoon during the drinks reception in the main entrance hallway. This is always a favourite part of the day for us and it’s great to see family and friends getting together for drinks and chats!
Later on the party really started – the lovely couple had Marvin Gaye ‘Aint no mountain high enough’ for their first dance which was played live by the band!
Special thanks to Ellie Grace Photography for the evening photos! Congratulations again to Lucie and Scott, all the best for the future!
We had a lovely time playing for Adam and Jennifer at Thornbridge Hall near Sheffield this month. ‘Crash and Burn’ by savage garden was the first dance. Pictures courtesy of Shoot Lifestyle.
Thornbridge Hall is a large English country house situated in Ashford in the Water near the village of Great Longstone in the local government district of Derbyshire Dales, Derbyshire. It is a Grade II listed building. The original Thornbridge Brewery was based in a converted joiner’s and stonemason’s workshop within the grounds of Thornbridge Hall. With aims “to make a small range of quality cask and bottled beers using new recipes, innovative approaches and the use of local fresh ingredients”. Its first beers appeared in February 2005 and have won awards.
We had a super time playing for Christine and Solomon at the Monastery in Manchester a couple of weeks ago. The Monastery Manchester is a fabulous historic venue in Gorton, Manchester once listed as one of the world’s top 100 endangered sites.
Christine and Solomon had Thinking Out Loud by Luckie D which was a great choice, followed up by our 5 piece wedding band as the evening’s main entertainment.
The monastery Manchester really is a fantastic looking venue and it was great to share it with our lovely couple. All the best to you both for the future!
The Biscuit Factory is a truly unique, stylish and creative backdrop for your special day. Combined with its unrivalled location in the Ouseburn Valley – dubbed the city’s cool cultural quarter – it’s perfect for couples seeking a wedding with an urban twist.
Last weekend we had an great time playing for Sam and Georgina at the amazing East Riddlesden Hall in Keighley near Leeds. East Riddlesden Hall is national trust grade 2 listed barn near Keighley who specialise in weddings. The barn is a blank canvas allowing you to put your own stamp on the day and always looks great with a rustic theme. The new glass front has really added a great focal point to the venue.
Georgina and Sam had The Maccabees – Toothpaste Kisses as a SURPRISE first dance played for them by some friends which was a great touch.
It was our 7 piece show band out for the evening playing two sets with dj playlist music in between which really fills the space in a big barn like this.
It’s always nice to get good feedback from our clients about gigs we do. Here’s what Sam had to say:
Last month we played a GREAT wedding at Ripley Castle in Harrogate near York for Fran and Adam. They are a lovely couple and it was a privilege to be your wedding band. The couple had Meghan Trainor- ‘Like I’m gonna lose you’ for their first dance which was great fun.
Ripley Castle is remarkable site of historical importance in Yorkshire and it’s always a great event when we play here.
So thanks again to Fran and Adam for having us and also to Wedding Photographer Tim Hardy for sending us the photos you see here. He is a lovely chap and well respected in his field.
